02Why this ride matters
Most transportation asks a wheelchair user to adapt: transfer to a sedan seat, fold the chair, hope the trunk is deep enough, then repeat it all at the other end. Every transfer carries risk, and for many riders it is the single reason an appointment gets skipped.
Jomia's accessible service removes that step entirely. A ramp comes down, the rider boards seated, the chair is secured with a four-point tie-down system and a separate occupant belt, and the vehicle does not move until the securement is checked.
Manual chairs, transport chairs and most standard power chairs are accommodated. If you are unsure whether a specific chair fits, tell us the model or the overall dimensions when you book and we will confirm before the day of travel.

06Accessibility first
The driver arrives with the ramp ready, not still figuring out the latch. Doorways, thresholds and gravel driveways get assessed before the chair moves, and the safest approach is chosen out loud with the rider rather than around them.

Jomia operates out of Woodbridge and drives daily through the Virginia medical corridors. If your pickup address or destination sits further out in Virginia, call and we will confirm availability honestly before you rely on it.
Questions, answered
No. The whole point of the service is that you board and travel in your own chair. If you prefer to transfer to a passenger seat, that is your choice and the driver will assist, but it is never required.
Most standard power chairs are accommodated. Because power chairs vary widely in weight and width, tell us the make and model when booking so we can confirm the ramp rating and interior clearance in advance.
A four-point tie-down system anchors the chair frame at four separate points, and the rider wears a lap and shoulder belt that is independent of the chair. The driver checks every point before the vehicle moves.
Tell us at booking. Gravel, steep driveways, unramped porches and narrow doorways all change the approach. In many cases the driver can meet you at a safer nearby point, and knowing in advance means the trip is not delayed.
Yes. Accessible vehicles include companion seating. Let us know when booking so seating is reserved rather than improvised.
Contact us before booking to discuss it. Availability depends on the trip, and it is better to confirm than to assume a chair will be waiting.
Yes. Accessible vehicles are used for church, grocery trips, family visits and airport runs as well as medical appointments. Accessibility should not stop at the clinic door.
