Accessibility first
Wheelchair accessible transportation, without the transfer
Roll on. Get secured. Ride level.
Riders stay in their own wheelchair from the front door to the destination. Ramp-equipped vehicles, four-point tie-downs and drivers who know how to load a chair properly, every time.

02Why this ride matters
Designed around the chair, not around the car
Most transportation asks a wheelchair user to adapt: transfer to a sedan seat, fold the chair, hope the trunk is deep enough, then repeat it all at the other end. Every transfer carries risk, and for many riders it is the single reason an appointment gets skipped.
Jomia's accessible service removes that step entirely. A ramp comes down, the rider boards seated, the chair is secured with a four-point tie-down system and a separate occupant belt, and the vehicle does not move until the securement is checked.
Manual chairs, transport chairs and most standard power chairs are accommodated. If you are unsure whether a specific chair fits, tell us the model or the overall dimensions when you book and we will confirm before the day of travel.
03Who it is for
Built for riders who use a wheelchair full time or part time
Full-time wheelchair users
Riders whose chair is fitted to them and should never be left behind or folded into a trunk.
Power chair users
Heavier chairs that a standard car simply cannot carry, loaded by ramp instead of lifted.
Post-surgical and temporary use
Riders using a transport chair during recovery who need level boarding for a few weeks.
Care facility residents
Assisted living and rehabilitation residents travelling to outside appointments.

04The Jomia experience
What travelling with Jomia actually feels like
Level boarding
A low-angle ramp instead of steps, so boarding does not depend on strength or balance.
Proper securement
Four anchor points on the chair plus a separate lap and shoulder belt for the rider.
Space to breathe
Interior height and clearance that let a rider sit upright and comfortably for the whole trip.
05How it works

At the destination the driver unloads and accompanies the rider to the entrance.
06Accessibility first
Built around the chair, the walker and the person using them
The driver arrives with the ramp ready, not still figuring out the latch. Doorways, thresholds and gravel driveways get assessed before the chair moves, and the safest approach is chosen out loud with the rider rather than around them.
Ramp-equipped accessible vehicles
Four-point wheelchair tie-down securement
Separate occupant restraint for the rider
Assistance over thresholds, kerbs and ramps at both ends
Space for a companion to travel alongside
Riders keep control of their own equipment. Nobody grabs handles without asking, nobody pushes faster than the rider is comfortable with, and armrests, footplates and personal items stay exactly where the rider wants them.

Questions, answered
Wheelchair Accessible Transportation: questions we hear in Woodbridge
No. The whole point of the service is that you board and travel in your own chair. If you prefer to transfer to a passenger seat, that is your choice and the driver will assist, but it is never required.
Most standard power chairs are accommodated. Because power chairs vary widely in weight and width, tell us the make and model when booking so we can confirm the ramp rating and interior clearance in advance.
A four-point tie-down system anchors the chair frame at four separate points, and the rider wears a lap and shoulder belt that is independent of the chair. The driver checks every point before the vehicle moves.
Tell us at booking. Gravel, steep driveways, unramped porches and narrow doorways all change the approach. In many cases the driver can meet you at a safer nearby point, and knowing in advance means the trip is not delayed.
Yes. Accessible vehicles include companion seating. Let us know when booking so seating is reserved rather than improvised.
Contact us before booking to discuss it. Availability depends on the trip, and it is better to confirm than to assume a chair will be waiting.
Yes. Accessible vehicles are used for church, grocery trips, family visits and airport runs as well as medical appointments. Accessibility should not stop at the clinic door.
